Description
This lot consists of 165 Rounds of vintage rimfire ammunition marketed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. under the J.C. Higgins brand name. The collection is housed in four original blue and cream cardboard boxes designated as Sta-Klean Xtra Range. The variety included in this grouping consists of one box of No. 300 .22 Short, one box of No. 302 .22 Long Rifle, and two boxes of No. 303 .22 Long Rifle Hollow Point. Verbatim markings on the packaging specify J.C. Higgins Our Own Trademark and Sears, Roebuck and Co. on each box lid and end flap. The cartridges themselves feature headstamps with either a stylized XR monogram or a single letter F. The projectiles are lead, with some examples displaying a copper wash, while the brass casings are of standard rimfire design.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit moderate shelf wear including corner fraying, staining, and surface scuffing.
