Description
This is a single Smith & Wesson Model 24-3 double-action revolver chambered in .44 S.&W. Special, featuring a 3-inch barrel and a 6-shot fluted cylinder. The firearm is finished in high-polish blued steel and is fitted with smooth wood combat-style grips featuring ergonomic finger grooves and a thumb rest. The sighting system consists of a pinned ramp front sight with a red insert and an adjustable rear sight. Prominent markings include SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel and .44 S.&W. SPECIAL on the right. The frame inside the crane is stamped with the serial number ALA2371 and the model designation MOD. 24-3, with the same serial number ALA2371 appearing on the butt of the grip frame. The crane also displays assembly numbers A20 and 15497. The right sideplate bears the Smith & Wesson trade mark logo, and the right side of the frame is stamped with the manufacturer address MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. The clear plastic display stand shown in the images is not included with the lot. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in very good condition, retaining a high percentage of its original blued finish with a light cylinder turn line and minor handling marks on the sideplate and frame. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double action; however, we have not function-tested this firearm. The smooth wood grips are in excellent condition with no visible cracks or significant dings.
