Description
This lot consists of a collection of 105 rounds of .222 Remington caliber centerfire ammunition spanning several generations of Remington commercial packaging. The collection includes six boxes in total: two vintage green Kleanbore Hi-Speed boxes for 50-grain soft point bullets, one vintage green box with a large red R logo labeled Hi-Speed, and three newer-style green High Velocity boxes. The cartridges are constructed with brass casings and feature soft point bullets with lead tips. Headstamp markings transcribed verbatim include REM-UMC 222 REM and R – P 222 REM, indicating production by the Remington-Union Metallic Cartridge Company and Remington-Peters. The variety of packaging represents distinct eras of Remington manufacturing history.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show varying degrees of shelf wear, including edge fraying, tears to the flaps, and surface abrasions. One box retains a legacy retail price sticker. The brass cartridge cases exhibit natural oxidation and mild tarnishing consistent with age. All rounds appear to be factory loads and the ammunition is in live condition.
