Description
One Hamilton Watch Company Grade 992 open-face railroad grade pocket watch accompanied by its original cardboard retail box. The watch features a white dial with bold black Arabic numeral hour markers, a outer minute track with heavy block indicators, and a recessed sub-dial for seconds at the six o’clock position. The dial is signed Hamilton in the upper center. The blued steel hands include a spade-style hour hand. According to the movement specifications printed on the box, this watch contains 21 jewels and is adjusted to five positions. The case is 10 karat gold filled and features an engraved geometric border on the bezel and the case back rim. The bow is decorated with intricate scrollwork engraving. The two-piece cardboard retail box displays the Hamilton coat of arms and the slogan The Watch of Railroad Accuracy. Side labels on the box identify the movement as Grade 992 with 21 jewels and the case as 10K Gold Fill.
Condition report:
The watch case displays significant brassing and wear through to the base metal along the side edges. The case back shows moderate surface scratching consistent with age and use. The dial and crystal appear to be in good condition. The original cardboard box shows light age-related wear, including scuffing at the corners and minor surface discoloration. Mechanical functionality and timekeeping accuracy have not been tested.
