Description
This lot comprises a collection of 75 rounds of .30-30 Winchester centerfire rifle ammunition along with 20 empty brass casings, presented in five vintage factory boxes from Western and Peters. The assortment includes two Western Super-X boxes and three Peters High Velocity boxes of varying designs and eras. One Western box is notably modified with a yellow Speer load data label from Omark Industries, featuring handwritten notations for a 30-30 cartridge loaded with a 110-grain hollow point bullet, 34 grains of 3031 powder, and Winchester primers, specifying a velocity of 2,500 feet per second. The Peters boxes include a 30-30 Winchester 150-grain Inner-Belted soft point bullet variant and an earlier duck logo High Velocity design. Visible headstamps across the mixed lot include W-W SUPER 30-30 WIN, R-P 30-30 WIN, F C 30-30, and PETERS 30-30. Prominent box markings include Western Super-X 20 Center Fire Rifle Cartridges, Peters High Velocity 30-30 Winchester 150 Gr. Inner-Belted Soft Point Bullet, and Peters High Velocity Kleanbore Priming. The cartridges feature a variety of soft point and hollow point projectiles.
Condition report:
The vintage cardboard boxes exhibit moderate to heavy shelf wear, including edge scuffing, corner softening, surface tears, and material loss, most notably on the older Peters duck logo box. The ammunition displays typical signs of age, with the brass cases showing varying degrees of tarnishing and verdigris. The exposed lead tips of the soft point bullets exhibit light to moderate oxidation. Primers remain intact across the live rounds. This lot contains a mix of factory loads and suspected handloads and is sold as a collectible; we have not function-tested this ammunition and cannot guarantee its performance or safety for use.
