Description
A lot of 50 rounds of .22 W.R.F. (Remington Special) rimfire ammunition manufactured by the Remington Arms Company, Inc. These Hi-Speed Kleanbore cartridges are equipped with lead round nose bullets and utilize an inside lubricated design with non-corrosive Kleanbore priming. The cartridges are contained in a vintage red and green cardboard box bearing both the Remington and DuPont logos. Transcribed markings on the packaging include the manufacturer name, Remington Hi-Speed Kleanbore, 22 W.R.F. (REM. SPL.), and 50 RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES. The reverse side of the box specifies manufacture at the company addresses in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Ilion, New York, while the side panel is marked with the index number 1822. A visual examination of the cartridges reveals a mixture of headstamps, including those marked with the letter U for Remington/UMC and others featuring the diamond Super X logo associated with Winchester/Western.
Condition report:
The original cardboard box exhibits significant shelf wear, including fraying at the corners, edge rubbing, and a small tear on the front left corner. Despite these signs of age, all printed text and logos remain clear and legible. The cartridges themselves appear to be in stable condition, with the brass cases showing a light, even patina and the lead bullets appearing intact without heavy oxidation or corrosion. Although the ammunition appears to be live, it is sold as a collectible item of unknown storage history and has not been function tested for safety or reliability.
