Description
This lot consists of 98 rounds of vintage blank ammunition manufactured by the United States Cartridge Co. of New York, New York. The collection is housed in two original cardboard boxes, one for .32 caliber Smith & Wesson central fire blanks and a smaller box for .22 caliber short rim fire blanks. The cartridges utilize rimmed casings with paper wads at the case mouths. Verbatim markings on the larger box include 50 32 CALIBRE S. & W. BLANK CARTRIDGES, CENTRAL FIRE, and UNITED STATES CARTRIDGE CO. NEW YORK, N. Y. U. S. A. The smaller box is labeled 50 22 CALIBRE SHORT BLANK CARTRIDGES, RIM FIRE, and UNITED STATES CARTRIDGE CO. NEW YORK, N. Y. Both containers feature the circular US logo and specify MADE IN U. S. A. The total quantity of 98 rounds is provided for this lot across both calibers.
Condition report:
The original cardboard boxes exhibit significant shelf wear, including frayed corners, minor tearing, and surface paper loss, though the blue and orange graphics remain mostly legible. The blank cartridges show heavy dark patina and surface oxidation on the brass casings. The paper wads appear generally intact at the case mouths. This ammunition is sold as a historical collectible and has not been tested for functionality or safety.
