Description
This collection consists of three reference volumes focusing on American military fortifications and small arms. The group includes one deluxe hardcover and two specialized softcover collector’s manuals.
The first volume is A Legacy in Brick and Stone: American Coastal Defense Forts of the Third System, 1816-1867 by John R. Weaver II, published by Redoubt Press. This is the Revised and Expanded Edition, designated as the Deluxe Color Hardcover Edition. This quarto volume provides a comprehensive study of 19th-century American coastal defense architecture, featuring extensive color aerial photography, maps, and site plans. It is accompanied by the original pictorial dust jacket showing a fortification.
The second volume is The Model 1911 and Model 1911A1 Military and Commercial Pistols by Joe Poyer, edited by Craig Riesch. This 3rd Edition was published by North Cape Publications, Inc. as part of the For Collectors Only series. The octavo-sized softcover reference features a part-by-part examination of the service pistol, intended to assist collectors in verifying authenticity and correct components.

Condition report:
The collection is in overall very good condition. A Legacy in Brick and Stone shows minor shelf wear and light rubbing at the corners and edges of the pictorial dust jacket; the binding is tight and the interior pages are clean. The Model 1911 volume exhibits light edge wear and minor curling to the softcover wrappers. The Winchester Trench and Riot Guns volume is in new, as-issued condition, sealed in the original publisher\'s shrink wrap.
