Description
The Remington Model 33 is a manual-cocking single-shot bolt-action rifle designed for rimfire cartridges in .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle. This rifle features a 24-inch round barrel and a matching blued receiver, providing a traditional profile for target shooting and small game applications. The metal components are set into a one-piece walnut stock with a semi-pistol grip and a smooth forend. The fire control system utilizes a knurled manual cocking piece at the rear of the bolt. Sighting equipment consists of a fixed front blade sight and a barrel-mounted adjustable rear notch sight. The rifle is fitted with a steel trigger guard and a crescent-style metal buttplate. Key barrel markings include REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC. ILION, N.Y. / MADE IN U.S.A. – PATENTS PENDING – MODEL 33 and the Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF logo. The caliber designation is specified as .22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE. No serial number is visible on the external surfaces. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The original blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows thinning and moderate wear, transitioning to a light brown patina in several areas, but remains free of significant pitting. The internal bore condition was not inspected. The walnut stock is in good condition, exhibiting scattered minor dings, superficial scratches, and small impressions consistent with its age and use. The bolt action and manual cocking mechanism appear to function correctly when cycled, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The metal buttplate and trigger guard show finish loss and light surface oxidation.
