Description
This lot consists of 180 rounds of vintage handgun ammunition distributed across four original period boxes. The collection features primarily .32 Automatic (7.65mm Browning) and .32 Smith & Wesson calibers. Included is a 50-count blue and yellow Winchester box for .32 Auto Colt-7.65mm Browning full patch cartridges with Non-Mercuric Staynless priming. A second 50-count yellow and blue box from Western Cartridge Company contains .32 Automatic cartridges loaded with 74-grain Lubaloy metal case bullets. A third yellow Winchester box with a red W logo contains approximately 39 rounds of .32 Auto ammunition. The final 50-count red and blue box is for Winchester .32 Smith & Wesson cartridges with 85-grain lead bullets and Staynless primers. Case headstamps across the lot include W.R.A. 32 AUTO, WESTERN 32 AUTO, W.R.A. 32 A.C., W.R.A. 32 S&W, and W-W 32 S&W. Prominent box markings include Winchester Trade Mark Made in U.S.A., Western Lubaloy Lubricating Alloy, and Staynless Non-Mercuric Oilproof. The cartridges utilize brass cases with copper-jacketed or lead round-nose projectiles. A pink and white cloth is included in one of the boxes as filler material.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show varying degrees of shelf wear consistent with age, including frayed edges, corner loss, minor staining, and surface abrasions. The brass cartridge cases exhibit a natural aged patina and minor surface oxidation. Lead bullets show typical surface oxidation or dulling of the finish. The primers appear unspent and intact. This lot is sold as vintage ammunition for display or collection; the chemical stability of the primers and propellant has not been tested, and we have not function-tested this ammunition.
