Description
This lot consists of 50 rounds of vintage shotgun ammunition manufactured by the Western Cartridge Company. The ammunition is 12 gauge with a 2 3/4 inch shell length, divided into two boxes of 25 shells each. One box is designated as a maximum load containing 1 1/4 ounces of number 7 1/2 shot, while the second box is similarly designated for number 6 shot. The yellow and blue cardboard packaging features the prominent red X logo and verbatim markings including Western Super-X Long Range Short Shot String Shotgun Shells, Seal-Tite Wads, Scuff-Proof, and Non-Corrosive Primers. Manufacturer information on the reverse identifies the producer as the Western Cartridge Company, Division of Olin Industries, Inc., East Alton, Illinois, U.S.A. Top flaps include instructions to To Open Press Here alongside conservation slogans like Help Conserve Wild Life and Cooperate With Farm Owners. Condition report:
The boxes are in good vintage condition and are currently protected by clear plastic wrap. The cardboard exhibits typical age-related toning, minor edge wear, and slight crushing at the corners. The graphics and text remain bright and fully legible. As the boxes are sealed in plastic, the individual shells have not been physically inspected for case condition or corrosion; the ammunition is sold as a collectible lot and should not be considered for modern firing use without expert inspection.
