Description
This auction lot features a group of 475 Remington UMC Kleanbore High Velocity .22 Long Rifle rimfire cartridges presented in a green metal collector tin. The ammunition consists of a variety of loose cartridges including both lead round nose and copper-washed projectiles. Visible headstamps on the brass casings include the stamped R and Rem designations. The tin lid is prominently marked with the Remington name in a diagonal yellow banner above a red shield reading CONTENTS 475 ROUNDS, while secondary text specifies RIM FIRE 22 LONG RIFLE and HIGH VELOCITY. One side of the tin depicts a color illustration of the factory buildings with text reading REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. BRIDGEPORT, CONN. 06602. Other sides of the tin bear the trademarks REMINGTON UMC and KLEANBORE, the safety warning RANGE 1 1/2 MILES-BE CAREFUL, and the manufacturing mark MADE IN U.S.A. 1575-E. Condition report:
The green painted finish of the tin shows moderate wear consistent with age and storage, including scattered scratches, minor paint loss, and areas of light surface rust along the lid edges and seams. Adhesive residue from a previous sticker is present on the lid and one side panel. The ammunition appears to be live and in generally good condition, with some cartridges exhibiting typical oxidation on the brass cases and oxidation or wax lubricant buildup on the lead projectiles.
