Description
This Shanghai Model B3-1 is an underlever spring-piston air rifle chambered in .177 caliber, designed for target shooting and recreational use. The rifle features a blued steel barrel and receiver assembly paired with a polished silver-toned sliding breech cover. It is fitted with a one-piece wood stock that displays a characteristic high-gloss orange-tinted lacquer finish and is terminated with a ribbed black rubber buttpad. The sighting system includes a hooded front sight and an adjustable rear notch sight mounted on the receiver. Cocking is facilitated by a steel underlever located beneath the barrel, which is equipped with a knurled grip for positive traction. Verbatim markings on the receiver include the Chinese characters for Shanghai and China, a diamond-shaped manufacturer logo, and the text MADE IN SHANGHAI CHINA. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number L 685537. A factory cautionary sticker remains affixed to the left side of the buttstock, providing safety information regarding the high-power nature of the air gun. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this air rifle. Note – As an air rifle, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a high percentage of their original blued finish, with minor thinning and scattered handling marks consistent with regular use. The wood stock shows various scratches, dings, and small chips in the thick lacquer finish, particularly along the forend and buttstock. The sliding breech cover remains bright with some light oxidation spots. The rubber buttpad is intact with minor hardening. The mechanical action appears functional, and the underlever locks into position as intended. The bore was not inspected.
