Description

This is a Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 double-action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum, featuring a factory nickel finish and an 8 3/8-inch pinned barrel with a micro-groove top rib. The firearm is equipped with a six-shot recessed cylinder, an adjustable rear target sight, and a ramp front sight with a red insert. It is fitted with checkered wood target grips featuring silver-tone Smith & Wesson medallions and includes a case-hardened hammer and trigger. Verbatim markings include SMITH & WESSON on the left side of the barrel and 44 MAGNUM on the right side. The right side of the frame is marked with the manufacturer’s trade mark and the address MADE IN U.S.A. / MARCAS REGISTRADAS / SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MASS. Upon opening the cylinder, the crane is marked with the serial number N140495 over the model designation MOD. 29-2. The cylinder arm is stamped with the assembly numbers 36390 and E11. An N is visible on the rear face of the cylinder and the rear of the barrel lug, confirming the factory nickel finish. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The revolver is in good overall condition, retaining a high percentage of its factory nickel finish with some minor handling marks and a visible turn line on the cylinder. The case-hardened finish on the hammer and trigger remains well-defined. The bore is bright with crisp rifling and no signs of pitting. The checkered wood grips show minor wear but remain structurally sound with sharp texture. The action appears to function correctly with positive timing and lockup, although we have not function-tested this firearm.
