Description
This is a single action revolving carbine chambered in .44 W.C.F., featuring an 18 inch blued barrel and cylinder. Manufactured by A. Uberti in Italy and imported by Cimarron Firearms Co., this firearm is configured as a revolving rifle with a color case-hardened frame and hammer. The furniture consists of a polished hardwood stock terminated with a traditional brass crescent buttplate. Sights include a fixed blade at the muzzle and a frame-notched rear sight. Metal surfaces display a deep blued finish on the barrel, cylinder, and trigger guard, while the receiver and hammer exhibit vivid color case-hardening. Verbatim markings on the top of the barrel specify CIMARRON F. A. Co. FREDERICKSBURG. TEXAS, A. UBERTI ITALY, while the left side is marked 44 W.C.F. adjacent to Italian proof marks including a CIP N and a shield motif. The left side of the frame is stamped with the manufacturer patent dates PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871 and PAT. JULY 2. 1872. This carbine is accompanied by its original factory box, instruction manual, and Cimarron repair policy certificate, all which transcribe the serial number as P79450. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The carbine is in excellent, like-new condition, appearing to have seen minimal use. The blued finish remains approximately 99% or better with no significant wear or scratches observed. The color case-hardening on the frame and hammer is bold and vibrant. The bore is bright with sharp, clean rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The wood stock is in excellent condition with a smooth finish and no dings or cracks. The brass buttplate is bright with very minor shelf wear consistent with storage. The original box and documentation are well-preserved.
