Description
This lot consists of a total of 60 rounds of .35 Whelen centerfire rifle ammunition, comprising three individual boxes of 20 cartridges each. The collection includes one box of Remington Express Rifle ammunition featuring 250-grain Pointed Soft Point (PSP) bullets. Verbatim markings on the Remington cartridges include the headstamp R – P 35 WHELEN. Also included are two boxes of Hornady Superformance ammunition loaded with 200-grain Soft Point (SP) bullets, product number 81193. The first Hornady box contains 20 rounds headstamped HORNADY 35 WHELEN. The second Hornady box contains 20 rounds, with 18 cartridges bearing HORNADY 35 WHELEN headstamps and 2 cartridges bearing F C 35 WHELEN headstamps from Federal Cartridge. The .35 Whelen caliber is a medium-bore cartridge known for its performance on large game.
Condition report:
The ammunition shows varying degrees of age and shelf wear. The Remington cartridges exhibit visible surface oxidation on the exposed lead tips and scattered tarnish or oxidation spots on the brass cases. The Hornady cartridges generally appear bright and clean with minimal signs of tarnish. All cardboard packaging shows typical shelf wear including scuffing, minor edge fraying, and corner impact marks. The primers are intact, and the ammunition appears to be live factory-loaded rounds.
