This lot consists of 500 Federal Hi-Power brand .22 Short rimfire cartridges. The ammunition features brass cases and copper-plated round nose lead bullets. Each cartridge base is stamped with a serifed capital letter F headstamp, identifying the manufacturer as Federal. The lot includes original cardboard packaging, specifically a large brick box marked Federal Hi-Power 500 Rim Fire Cartridges .22 Short and an individual smaller box marked Federal Hi-Power 50 Rim Fire Cartridges. Visual inspection of the 50-round box reveals a white plastic tray containing 49 cartridges seated vertically with one lying horizontally. Prominent markings on the packaging include Federal Hi-Power, 500 Rim Fire Cartridges, .22 Short, and the safety warning Warning Keep Out of Reach of Children. The design and packaging are consistent with mid-to-late 20th-century American commercial ammunition production.
