Description
This lot consists of 238 rounds of rimfire ammunition produced by Western and Winchester. The collection is housed in six yellow cardboard boxes, including two boxes of Western Super-X marked SX22S, two boxes of Western Xpert Standard Velocity marked XP22S, one box of Winchester Super-Speed marked SS22S, and one box of Winchester Super-Speed Hollow Point marked SS22SH. These cartridges are chambered in .22 Short and feature a variety of projectile types, including both solid lead and copper-washed bullets, with some examples being hollow point. Verification of the interior contents shows headstamps marked with a capital H and a triangle containing the letter A. Verbatim markings on the packaging include Western Super-X Rim Fire Cartridges, Western Xpert Standard Velocity 22 Short, and Winchester Super-Speed 22 Short, along with safety warnings stating Warning Keep out of reach of children.
Condition report:
The yellow cardboard packaging exhibits age-related wear including localized staining, edge fraying, and minor surface loss to the printed surfaces. The cartridges show signs of age, including oxidation of the lead projectiles and tarnishing of the brass casings. The ammunition is sold as-is for collectibility and has not been function-tested.
