Description
This lot features a gas-operated semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Wildey and chambered in .45 Winchester Magnum. The firearm is configured with a 10 inch barrel featuring a full-length vented rib and a red insert front sight paired with an adjustable black rear sight. The pistol displays a high-polish chrome finish with extensive scrollwork engraving covering the slide, barrel, and frame. The right side of the slide is decorated with an engraved eagle holding a banner that reads COMMEMORATING and 1ST GAS PISTOL. Verification of markings on the left side of the frame includes the manufacturer and location as W WILDEY WARREN, CT USA PATENTED NOV. 2, 1976. The right side of the frame features the serial number 4794 within an engraved cartouche, and a Liberty Bell motif is present on both sides of the frame near the hammer. The pistol is fitted with smooth, dark-grained wood grip panels. The firearm is accompanied by its original wooden presentation case with a green velvet-lined interior, an instruction manual and parts catalog, a wooden-handled cleaning rod with interchangeable tips, two keys, and a total of two magazines. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol is in excellent overall condition, retaining nearly all of its high-polish finish with minimal handling marks or wear. The extensive engraving remains sharp and well-defined. The wood grips are in excellent state with an attractive natural grain and no significant dings or scratches. The bore is bright with crisp, well-defined rifling. The gas-operated action appears to function correctly and smoothly, and the magazines seat firmly. The wooden presentation case shows light external storage wear but maintains a clean interior.
