Description
This Browning Auto-5 Magnum Twelve is a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun chambered for 3-inch magnum shells. It is equipped with a barrel featuring a ventilated rib and a single front bead sight. Technical specifications include a blued steel receiver decorated with scrollwork engraving and a two-piece checkered walnut stock and forend. The stock is a pistol grip style and features a brown rubber recoil pad. Key markings on the receiver include the model designation Magnum and BROWNING on the sides, with the serial number 68V 11969 stamped on the underside forward of the loading port. Barrel markings on the left side include * SPECIAL STEEL-12 GAUGE-SHELLS 3″ while the right side is marked BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL P.Q. and MADE IN BELGIUM. Belgian proof marks are visible on the breech end of the barrel, including a 12-75 stamp. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun shows significant finish wear and thinning to the blued steel, with silvering on the receiver and areas of surface oxidation and patina on the barrel. The walnut stock and forend exhibit numerous dings, heavy scratches, and impressions consistent with field use, with some thinning of the varnish. The recoil pad remains intact but shows light compression and minor surface wear. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore is bright.
