Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of vintage Remington Arms Company, Inc. .22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition, housed in two period-correct two-piece cardboard boxes. The ammunition features brass cases and lead bullets, with each case bearing a stamped capital letter U headstamp. One box is designated for Palma Hi-Speed cartridges with Kleanbore priming, marked with the manufacturer addresses for New York, Bridgeport, and London, the product code R54PB, and U.S. Patent No. 1,443,328. The second box contains Palma Lubricated Bullets and features the Remington UMC Kleanbore logo, the code 6222, and manufacturer information for Bridgeport, Connecticut and Ilion, New York. Verbatim markings on the packaging state that these cartridges are specially adapted for fine small bore match shooting at all standard small bore ranges where a high degree of accuracy is required. The ammunition appears to be in its original, unspent state, intended for collectible display.
Condition report:
Both two-piece boxes show notable age-related wear, including frayed edges, surface scuffing, and minor staining consistent with long-term storage. The ammunition remains in live condition, with the brass casings exhibiting a light, natural tarnishing and the lead bullets showing a dull gray patina characteristic of vintage lead.
