Description
This lot features a box containing 50 rounds of vintage Airway brand .22 Short rimfire ammunition manufactured for Gamble Stores in the United States. Each cartridge consists of a brass casing with a lead round-nose bullet and features a headstamp with a stylized capital letter A. The red and cream cardboard packaging includes blue printed text with prominent markings such as 50 .22 SHORT AIRWAY RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES and a handwritten 33c price mark on the front panel. The side panels repeat the caliber and brand name while the rear panel provides technical details stating the cartridges are loaded with smokeless powder and non-corrosive priming for maximum velocity. Additional markings identify the manufacturer as being for Gamble Stores and indicate the product was made in the U.S.A.
Condition report:
The original cardboard box is in fair to good condition, showing typical shelf wear, frayed edges, and minor staining. The ammunition appears to be live with surface oxidation present on the lead bullet tips and minor tarnishing on the brass cases.
