Description
This lot consists of a single Colt Cobra double-action revolver chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. The firearm is configured with a 3 inch barrel featuring a fixed blade front sight and a squared-groove rear sight integral to the top strap. The barrel and six-shot cylinder exhibit a blued finish, while the lightweight alloy frame is finished in a black anodization. The revolver is fitted with two-piece checkered walnut grips adorned with silver-toned Colt medallions. Prominent markings include the left side of the barrel stamped COBRA .38 SPECIAL CTG. and the right side marked COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. with the serial number A78973 located on the frame inside the crane. A rampant Colt logo is engraved on the left side of the frame. The firearm is accompanied by a brown leather holster with a silver-toned snap closure. While the action appears to function correctly in both single and double action, we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver exhibits moderate finish wear consistent with holster carry and regular use. The blued finish on the barrel and cylinder shows thinning at the muzzle, leading edges, and along the cylinder flutes and high points. The black anodized frame shows light scratches and minor finish loss at the edges of the trigger guard and backstrap. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. The checkered wood grips remain in good condition with minor dings and slight flattening of the checkering at the base. The action appears to function mechanically, and the cylinder locks up securely. The included leather holster shows moderate surface scuffing and honest wear but remains supple with intact stitching.
