Description
This is a Beeman Model R1 break-barrel spring-piston air rifle chambered in .177 caliber (4.5mm). The rifle features a round blued barrel fitted with a fluted muzzle weight and operates via a break-action cocking mechanism. The steel receiver and barrel assembly exhibit a blued finish, with prominent markings on the receiver reading BEEMAN MODEL R1, Made in W. Germany, and BEEMAN PRECISION AIRGUNS INC. SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA 94903. Markings on the barrel block specify Cal. .177 / 4.5 mm alongside two pellet symbols. The furniture consists of a checkered wood stock with a Monte Carlo style raised cheekpiece, a semi-pistol grip, and sling swivel studs mounted on the forend and buttstock. It is equipped with a Beeman Blue Ribbon Model 66R 2-7x32mm variable power scope featuring an adjustable objective, made in Japan, which is secured by a two-piece mount. The scope is marked BEEMAN BLUE RIBBON, MODEL 66R 2-7X32, and FULLY COATED PRECISION CENTERED JAPAN B 57. The stock is finished with a ventilated rubber buttpad featuring white and black spacers. Condition report:
The air rifle is in fair to good condition. The blued finish on the metal surfaces shows thinning, surface scratches, and some light oxidation, particularly on the sharp edges and the muzzle weight. The wooden stock exhibits significant handling wear, with numerous dings, scratches, and scrapes throughout the finish, though it remains structurally sound. The checkering on the grip and forend remains well-defined despite the wear. The bore is bright with strong, sharp rifling. The action appears to function correctly, although we have not function-tested the rifle for velocity or accuracy. The optics on the Beeman scope are clear, with one scuff noted on the objective bell housing.
