Description
This lot features 100 rounds of vintage .32-20 Winchester (.32 W.C.F.) ammunition presented in two original red and yellow cardboard boxes. The first box is labeled as Winchester Super Speed High Velocity and contains 50 centerfire cartridges with copper-jacketed hollow point bullets. Printed markings on this box specify its use in Winchester Models 92, 53, and 65 rifles and include the warning NOT FOR WIN. MODEL 73 AND NOT FOR REVOLVERS. The second box is a Winchester Staynless container holding 50 cartridges with lead flat-nose bullets. Transcribed headstamps observed across the collection include W.R.A. 32-20 WIN. and W.R.A. CO. 32 W.C.F. providing a representative sample of Winchester Repeating Arms Co. production from the mid-20th century. The ammunition exhibits a consistent aged appearance, with the lead projectiles showing surface oxidation and the brass cases displaying a natural darkened patina. These cartridges are intended for collector display or for use in appropriate vintage firearms after inspection by a qualified gunsmith.
Condition report:
The original cardboard boxes exhibit typical age-related shelf wear, including fraying at the corners, edge wear, and minor staining, although the printed text and graphics remain clear and legible. The brass cartridge cases show a natural aged patina consistent with long-term storage. The lead flat-nose bullets in the Staynless box show visible surface oxidation and a dull grey color. The copper-jacketed hollow points in the Super Speed box remain largely intact with some light tarnishing. Primers appear original and seated correctly. The ammunition is sold as a collectible item; we have not function-tested the propellant or primers.
