Description
This lot contains 154 rounds of Imperial brand .22 caliber rimfire ammunition manufactured by Canadian Industries Limited (C-I-L). The collection is composed of one 50-round box of .22 Short High Velocity ammunition and three boxes of .22 Long Rifle High Velocity ammunition. Two of the .22 Long Rifle boxes are specifically designated as Mushroom hollow-point loads. Technical specifications for these cartridges include brass cases and lead bullets with a dry lubricated finish. Verbatim markings on the packaging include IMPERIAL, 22 LONG RIFLE or 22 SHORT, HIGH VELOCITY, and DRY LUBRICATED RIM FIRE CARTRIDGES, accompanied by the red oval C-I-L trademark. The cartridge headstamps are distinctly marked with the letter D, indicating production by the Dominion ammunition division of C-I-L. The lot retains its original black and gold cardboard boxes, with one box displaying a period handwritten price of 105 cents. The ammunition is organized within its original plastic and cardboard internal trays.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good condition, with the brass cartridge cases exhibiting a light age-related patina but no evidence of active corrosion or oxidation. The lead bullets are well-preserved with no significant oxidation or degradation of the lubricant. The original cardboard packaging shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including edge fraying, light surface scuffing, and minor corner impacts. One box end flap has a small tear. The internal trays remain intact. This ammunition has not been function-tested and is sold as a collectible.
