Description
A lot of 100 rounds of .30-30 Winchester ammunition contained in five original cardboard boxes. This collection includes three boxes originally containing 150-grain Silvertip controlled expanding bullets and two boxes containing 170-grain Silvertip bullets. Markings on the yellow and blue packaging specify Western Super-X 30-30 Winchester Silvertip and identify the manufacturer as the Western Cartridge Company of East Alton, Illinois. Visual examination confirms that the contents across the boxes are mixed, featuring a variety of manufacturers and bullet profiles. Transcribed headstamps from the cartridges include SUPER-X 30-30 WIN, WESTERN 30-30, REM-UMC 30-30, W-W SUPER 30-30 WIN, WINCHESTER 30-30, F C 30-30 WIN, and SUPER SPEED 30-30 WIN. While the boxes are primarily labeled for silver-colored Silvertip projectiles, some cartridges feature standard copper-jacketed soft-point bullets.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show age-appropriate shelf wear, fraying at the edges, and some handwritten price markings. The ammunition is in mixed condition; while many cartridges appear clean and well-maintained, one box contains rounds with significant green verdigris corrosion on the brass cases. The contents have been mixed over time, resulting in various manufacturers and bullet types being grouped together. All primers appear unfired and intact.
