Description
This lot features a collection of vintage centerfire ammunition consisting of 199 live rounds and 36 empty brass casings chambered for the .22 Remington “Jet” Magnum. The collection is housed in five original Remington Hi-Speed green cardboard boxes, four of which are factory-labeled as Index 0122 containing 40 grain soft point bullets with Kleanbore priming. The fifth box contains reloaded ammunition as indicated by a handwritten label stating 11.5 – Gr. 2400 REM – 40 GR BULLET. The brass casings are of rimmed construction and bear the headstamp R-P 22 REM JET. The live cartridges are loaded with copper-jacketed soft point bullets designed for use in firearms like the Smith & Wesson Model 53 revolver. All packaging is marked MADE IN U.S.A. and includes standard industry safety warnings regarding storage and reach of children.
Condition report:
The original cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including scuffed surfaces, edge fraying, and minor corner tearing consistent with age. One box exhibits remnants of blue tape on the end flap. The brass cartridge cases display a natural aged patina with light surface tarnishing and oxidation, but remain structurally sound. The copper jackets on the bullets appear in good condition. Primers on the live rounds are intact and show no signs of firing or significant corrosion. The 36 empty brass casings are spent and show typical firing residue.
