Description
This custom bolt-action sporting rifle is chambered in .284 Winchester and is built upon a Belgian-made FN commercial action. The firearm is configured with a tapered blued sporting barrel and a polished blued receiver. Key markings include the manufacturer logo of an FN within an oval and MADE IN BELGIUM stamped on the right side of the receiver ring. The left side of the receiver is engraved William C. Taylor Reno, Nevada. The barrel is marked .284 WIN on the left side of the chamber area. The receiver displays Belgian proof marks including a perron, a star over a letter, and a rampant lion over the letters P.V. The rifle features a highly figured walnut stock with a high-gloss finish, including a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, a dark wood forend tip, and a matching pistol grip cap with light-colored spacers. A dark wood monogram inlay of the letters WT is featured on the right side of the buttstock. The rifle is equipped with a Leupold 3-9x Vari-X IIc scope, which bears serial number Z209042 and is marked MADE IN USA. The optic is mounted on a one-piece base. The furniture is completed with a White Line De Luxe ventilated rubber recoil pad by Pachmayr and integrated sling swivel studs. The action appears to function smoothly, though the firearm has not been function-tested. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in excellent overall condition, retaining approximately 98 percent or more of its deep, high-luster blued finish on the barrel and receiver. The bolt body and handle show very minor thinning of the finish from operation. The walnut stock is in excellent condition with a mirror-like high-gloss finish showing only negligible handling marks and no cracks or chips. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The Leupold optic has clear glass and a crisp reticle. The rubber recoil pad remains supple.
