Description
This bronze sculpture, titled The Outlaw, is after the 1906 original work by American artist Frederic Remington. The composition depicts a cowboy in traditional Western attire, including a wide-brimmed hat and chaps, maintaining his seat on a bucking horse. The horse is rendered in a dynamic, vertical contortion with its head tucked down toward its forelegs and its hindquarters elevated. The bronze is finished with a dark brown to black patina and is set upon an integral textured bronze base that simulates rugged, uneven terrain. An incised inscription on the side of the bronze base reads Copyright By / Frederic Remington. The sculpture is mounted on a separate, oval, polished green-veined marble plinth featuring a beveled edge.

Condition report:
The bronze maintains a consistent dark patina across the figure and horse. Minor instances of oxidation and green verdigris are present within the recessed areas of the textured base. The marble plinth shows light surface wear, including minor scuffs and small nicks along the lower beveled edge, consistent with age and typical handling. The bronze remains securely attached to the marble base.
