Description
This lot consists of 150 rounds of vintage .32-20 Winchester centerfire ammunition produced by the Western Cartridge Company. The collection includes two 50-round boxes of Super-X High Velocity cartridges featuring 80-grain Lubaloy Open Point Expanding bullets and one 50-round box of standard 100-grain Lubaloy lead bullets. The Super-X High Velocity boxes contain prominent warnings for the shooter, stating Do Not Use In Revolvers and Do Not Use in Pistols, Revolvers or M 73 Winchester Rifles. Verbatim markings found on the original cardboard packaging include Western Center Fire Cartridges, Super-X, and Non-Corrosive Priming-Smokeless Powder. Headstamps on the brass casings are clearly legible as SUPER-X 32-20, WESTERN 32-20 WIN, and WESTERN 32-20. The cartridges are held in their original period boxes that feature the characteristic yellow and blue Western branding.
Condition report:
The vintage cardboard packaging displays significant age-related wear, including corner fraying, small tears, surface staining, and some edge compression. The cartridges show a natural patina and varying levels of surface tarnishing on the brass cases, while the Lubaloy bullet tips exhibit typical white oxidation. All rounds appear to be original and live, though they are sold as collectibles with no warranty as to their mechanical functionality or safety for use in firearms.
