Description
This is a single Winchester Model 12 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, configured for skeet shooting. The firearm features a blued finish and is equipped with a ventilated rib barrel fitted with a Lyman Cutts Compensator marked 705 F.C. The barrel length is approximately 26 inches inclusive of the muzzle device. The furniture consists of a figured walnut buttstock with a checkered pistol grip and a matching checkered walnut slide handle. Verbatim markings on the barrel include WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – WINCHESTER – MODEL 12 – 12 GA. and the choke designation WS-1, accompanied by patent dates ranging from 1896 to 1913. The underside of the receiver and barrel assembly bear matching serial numbers 701251, and the receiver is further stamped SKEET. The buttplate is missing, leaving the mounting holes and stock bolt hole exposed. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish exhibits thinning and wear throughout, with light surface peppering and minor pitting visible on the receiver and magazine tube. The walnut stock and forend show various handling marks and scratches, including a notable chip in the wood on the upper left side where the wrist meets the receiver. The checkering remains well-defined but shows smoothing from use. The buttplate is absent. The bore is bright. The action appears to cycle smoothly.
