Description
This is a Belgian-manufactured Browning Auto-5 Magnum Twelve semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 3-inch shells. The firearm is configured with a blued steel barrel measuring approximately 30 inches and is equipped with a ventilated rib and a single bead front sight. The receiver features a matching blued finish with classic scroll engraving; the left side is marked Magnum above the Browning logo, which incorporates the John Browning bust. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut stock with a round knob pistol grip and a matching checkered walnut forend, both exhibiting a high-gloss finish. The butt is fitted with a brown ventilated rubber recoil pad marked BROWNING. Verbatim markings on the left side of the barrel include BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO. & MONTREAL P.Q. and MADE IN BELGIUM. The right side of the barrel is marked with Belgian proof marks and ★ SPECIAL STEEL-12 GAUGE – SHELLS 3″. The serial number 5V 66088 is stamped on the underside of the receiver forward of the loading port, identifying the firearm as a 1965 manufacture. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good field condition, displaying approximately 85% of its original blued finish. There is visible thinning of the finish on the underside of the receiver and sharp edges of the barrel, along with scattered superficial scratches and minor storage wear consistent with its age. The walnut furniture shows various dings, impressions, and surface scratches throughout, particularly along the belly of the stock and the sides of the forend, but no cracks or major structural repairs are evident. The bore is bright and in excellent condition. The long-recoil action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested.
