Description
This Winchester Model 57 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. The rifle features a 22-inch barrel with a blued finish on the barrel and receiver. The walnut stock is designed with a Schnabel-style forend, integrated sling swivels, and a checkered metal buttplate. The sighting configuration consists of a front blade sight, a mid-barrel adjustable leaf sight, and a receiver-mounted aperture peep sight. Verbatim markings on the barrel include – MODEL 57 – WINCHESTER – 22 LONG R – and TRADE MARK, as well as the manufacturer address for New Haven, Conn., and patent dates ranging from November 25, 1919, to March 27, 1923. The serial number 21823 is stamped on the left side of the receiver, and Winchester Proof (WP) marks in ovals are visible on both the barrel and the receiver. This firearm is missing its detachable box magazine and is being sold without one. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the receiver and barrel shows thinning and moderate wear with light surface oxidation throughout. The walnut stock displays various scratches, scuffs, and small dings consistent with field use, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to cycle correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The detachable box magazine is missing from the magazine well. The bore was not inspected.
