Description
A vintage Hamilton open face pocket watch featuring a white double-sunk porcelain dial with bold black Arabic hour numerals and a red outer minute track in five-minute increments. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at the 6 o’clock mark. The dial is signed HAMILTON below the 12 o’clock position and features blued steel hands. The gold-filled case is decorated with an intricate foliate engraved bezel and border, fitted with a decorative bi-color bow and a large fluted crown. The case back is hand-engraved in script with the name Claudio Mathews. This timepiece is accompanied by a modern wooden presentation box with a laser-etched locomotive graphic and text reading The Hamilton Watch THE RAIL ROAD TIMEKEEPER OF AMERICA. Documentation included with the watch identifies the movement as a 16 size, serial number 4029407, with 22 jewels, adjusted to temperature and six positions, and featuring straight-line damaskeening. While the documentation lists the movement as Model 4992B, the dial is configured in a standard 12-hour railroad style.

Condition report:
The watch case displays light surface scratches and minor wear to the gold-filled finish consistent with age and use. The porcelain dial appears to be in very good condition with no visible hairlines or chips. The crystal shows minor surface scuffing. According to the accompanying handwritten note, the watch runs and keeps time, though it has not been professionally tested for long-term accuracy or serviced recently.
