Description
A Benjamin Model 700 repeating air rifle chambered in BB caliber, featuring a 25-shot internal repeater mechanism and a bolt-action operation. This pneumatic air rifle utilizes a manual pump handle located beneath the barrel and is fitted with a smooth one-piece wooden stock. The metal components, including the barrel and the pump tube, exhibit a worn black finish with surface wear and patina. The rifle is equipped with fixed iron sights consisting of a front blade and a rear notch. Key markings stamped into the receiver include BENJAMIN FRANKLIN and a circular logo for BENJAMIN AIR RIFLE CO. ST. LOUIS U.S.A. which further identifies the piece as a NO 700 and a 25 SHOT REPEATER. Additional functional instructions marked on the metal components include COCK HAMMER TO LOAD SLOWLY on the receiver and AIR HOLE DON’T OIL near the muzzle of the pump tube. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm or its ability to hold pressure. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The air rifle is in fair, well-used condition. The original black finish on the metal components shows significant wear, with numerous scratches, surface abrasions, and areas of thinning and patina. The wooden stock exhibits widespread dings, scratches, and impressions consistent with age and heavy use, particularly on the buttstock and lower forend. The sights remain intact. The bore has not been inspected. The mechanical action appears operational, but air-holding integrity is unknown.
