Description

This is an original work of art titled The Colt .45 Peacemaker, produced by The Franklin Mint in 1979. The artwork is a metal silhouette depicting a highly detailed, ornate Colt .45 Peacemaker revolver. According to the included certificate of authenticity, the piece is crafted in sterling silver and 24 karat gold. The handgun features intricate etched scrollwork across the frame, cylinder, and barrel, with a checkered grip containing a gold-toned Colt horse medallion. The silhouette is mounted against a black velvet-textured background and is housed in its original dark wood frame with a gilded inner cove. A brass plaque reading The Colt .45 Peacemaker is attached to the center of the lower frame member. The reverse of the frame retains its original Certificate of Authenticity from The Franklin Mint, dated January 15, 1979, and signed by William F. Krieg, Vice President of Collector Relations. The certificate states the work was crafted under the authorization of the Firearms Division of Colt and authenticated by Colt’s master gunsmiths as a single and strictly limited edition.

Condition report:

The frame shows moderate age-related wear, including various scuffs, scratches, and minor finish loss along the outer edges and corners. The backing paper is intact but shows minor age-related toning.
