Description
This Redding-Hunter Incorporated reloading die set is designed for the .300/221 Remington cartridge, a precursor to the .300 Blackout, as indicated on the factory label for set number 80432. The set is housed in its original green plastic manufacturer storage box, which identifies the company location as 114 Starr Road, Cortland, New York. This collection includes three steel die bodies, a decapping rod assembly, a #10 shell holder, and an additional knurled lock ring. The die bodies are constructed of steel with knurled sections for manual adjustment and grip, utilizing standard 7/8-14 threading. Key markings transcribed from the set include Redding Reloading Die Set 80432, Description 300/221 Remington, Shellholder #10, Series D, and the die bodies themselves are marked Redding 300/221 Rem and 221 Rem ST V7. The storage box also bears the raised lettering Redding Reloading Dies and the Redding-Hunter Incorporated company address.
Condition report:
The dies and accessories are in fair to good used condition. There is visible surface oxidation and light rust present on the knurled adjustment rings and some of the exterior threads. The internal surfaces of the dies appear relatively smooth, though a thorough cleaning and lubrication is recommended before use. The #10 shell holder shows signs of use and minor discoloration. The original green plastic storage box is intact and functional with some light scuffing and minor storage wear.
