Description
A single Hamilton Watch Co. Railway Special open-face pocket watch featuring a 10 karat gold-filled case. The white dial is printed with bold black Arabic hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track, signed Hamilton and Railway Special. It includes a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position with black numerals. The time is indicated by black-finished steel spade and whip-style hands. The case is decorated with a foliate-engraved border on the bezel and the outer edge of the polished case back. The watch is topped with a fluted crown and a decorative bow. It is presented in a modern black hardshell box with a white satin lining.
Case size: 16-size.
Condition report:
The dial remains clean with no visible cracks or hairlines. The crystal exhibits multiple light surface scratches throughout. The gold-filled case shows general light scratching and moderate wear, with noticeable brassing to the gold layer on the bow and crown. The case back has numerous fine surface scratches from use. The mechanical functionality and timekeeping have not been tested.
