Ithaca Flues Model Side-by-Side Break-Action Shotgun 16 Gauge
Sold for: $350
Description
This is an Ithaca Gun Company Flues Model side-by-side break-action shotgun chambered in 16 gauge. The shotgun is equipped with dual triggers and a splinter-style forend. The receiver features roll-engraved scenes of a hunting dog in a field on both sides and is marked ITHACA GUN CO. ITHACA, N.Y. below the scenes. The barrels are marked SMOKELESS POWDER STEEL along the top of the rib area. The matching serial number 271912 is clearly visible on the action water table and the barrel flats, with the water table further marked 16, S, and PATD. The barrel flats also bear the markings A.A. and 4. The checkered walnut stock shows significant handling wear and includes a hand-carved diamond motif on the right side of the butt containing the name A. ALVES. The shotgun is fitted with a black composite buttplate embossed with the Ithaca Gun Co. logo. This firearm was manufactured circa 1916 based on the serial number range. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal finish has transitioned to a mottled gray and brown patina throughout, with visible areas of surface oxidation and pitting on the barrels and receiver. The checkered wood stock and forend show numerous scratches, dings, and honest wear consistent with field use, including the personalization carved into the buttstock. The bores were not inspected. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition.
