Description
This is a single Iver Johnson Safety Automatic Second Model top-break, double-action revolver chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge. Designed for concealable self-defense, this firearm features a five-shot cylinder and a barrel measuring approximately 3 inches with a fixed blade front sight. The revolver is finished in nickel plating over a steel frame and is equipped with black checkered hard rubber grips featuring the manufacturer’s distinctive owl’s head logo. Key markings on the top of the barrel rib specify the manufacturer as IVER JOHNSON’S ARMS & CYCLE WORKS, FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A. followed by the patent string PAT’D APR. 6, 86, FEB. 15, 87, MAY 10, 87, AUG. 25, 96. PAT’S PENDING. The serial number 42381 is clearly stamped on the frame under the top strap, which is accessible when the action is broken open. The revolver employs a top-break ejection system and a double-action trigger mechanism. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in fair to poor condition. The nickel finish exhibits significant flaking, widespread surface oxidation, and areas of pitting throughout the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The hammer, trigger, and internal components show a dark patina and surface corrosion. The bore is dark with visible pitting and worn rifling. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double action, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The hard rubber owl\'s head grips are intact and remain in relatively good condition with clear checkering and minor handling wear.
