Description
This lot consists of 40 centerfire rifle cartridges chambered in .30-06 Springfield from manufacturers Federal and Winchester. The collection includes two partially filled original boxes. The first is a Federal Premium Vital-Shok box labeled for 180 grain Nosler Partition projectiles, containing a mix of loaded rounds and one spent brass casing. Visible headstamps in this box include “F C 30-06 SPRG” and “WINCHESTER 30-06 SPRG”. The second box is a Winchester Super X container labeled for 150 grain Power-Point soft point bullets, featuring headstamps transcribed as “WINCHESTER 30-06 SPRG”. The Federal ammunition is marketed for large game performance, while the Winchester Super X rounds are designated for deer, antelope, and wild boar. The cartridges are held in a combination of plastic carriers and foam trays. The brass casings and lead projectile tips show surface oxidation and tarnish throughout. The original cardboard packaging for both brands exhibits significant shelf wear, including fraying, scuffs, and compression at the corners.
Condition report:
The ammunition and packaging are in fair to good condition, exhibiting signs of age and long-term storage. The brass cartridge cases show varying degrees of surface tarnish and discoloration. The exposed lead tips of the soft-point projectiles have developed a dull gray oxidation. One spent casing is included in the Federal box. The cartridges appear to be functional but have not been performance tested. Both cardboard boxes are structurally worn with significant fraying, minor tearing at the flaps, and scuffing to the printed surfaces.
