Description
This Mossberg Maverick Model 88 is a pump action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, designed as a versatile field and sporting firearm. It is equipped with a 28 inch barrel featuring a ventilated rib and dual bead sights, consisting of a brass-toned mid-bead and a white front bead. The barrel is marked CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS — 12 GA.— 28 IN. ACCU-CHOKE and is threaded for the Accu-Choke system. The shotgun features a blued finish on the receiver and barrel, complemented by a black polymer stock and a ribbed synthetic forend. The buttstock is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad marked Mossberg. Extensive markings are visible on the receiver, with the left side designated MODEL 88 ~12 GA.~ MAVERICK BY MOSSBERG and stamped with the serial number MV84807X. The underside of the receiver is further marked 12 GA. EAGLE PASS, TX U.S.A. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm for live fire. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in used condition, showing signs of handling wear. The blued finish on the receiver and barrel remains largely intact but displays thinning on the bolt and magazine tube from cycling. There are minor areas of scattered surface oxidation present on the exterior of the barrel. The bore appears bright and clear. The black polymer stock and forend are in good condition with light scuffs and minor surface scratches consistent with field use. The action cycles smoothly.
