Description
This lot consists of 9 vintage American law enforcement duty items, primarily leather holsters, from the mid-to-late 20th century. The pieces are constructed from heavy black leather featuring a stamped basketweave pattern and are fitted with brass and nickel-plated steel hardware. The collection includes equipment from several prominent manufacturers of the era. Multiple items are marked Safety Speed Holster from Montebello, California. A Smith & Wesson holster is present, stamped with model B50 L 94W and U.S. Patent 3,942,692. Hoyt Holster Co. of Costa Mesa, California is represented by examples featuring U.S. Patent 2,109,732 and markings for .357 caliber. Several pieces bear the Tex Shoemaker star logo, including items marked with U.S. Patent 4,303,185 and a dual ammunition pouch from the Firepower series. The holsters represent various professional styles, including high-ride, drop-loop, and thumb-break retention models, largely sized for medium and large frame revolvers such as the Smith & Wesson K and L frames.
Condition report:
All items are in used, service-worn condition consistent with professional duty use. The leather surfaces show varying degrees of scuffing, finish loss, and creasing. Green verdigris oxidation is visible on several brass snaps and rivets. While all straps and hardware appear intact, mechanical functionality has not been individually tested.
