Description
This lot consists of 155 live rounds of 6mm Remington caliber centerfire rifle ammunition, organized into three individual plastic storage containers. Based on the accompanying handwritten labels, these items are custom handloads. One group of rounds is housed in a clear Berry’s Mfg., Inc. case and features brass headstamped R-P 244 REM; the label identifies these as being loaded with 60-grain copper hollow-point bullets and 40 grains of H4895 powder. It should be noted that the .244 Remington was the original designation for what is now known as the 6mm Remington. A second group is contained in a blue plastic case with brass headstamped W-W SUPER 6mm REM, also labeled as 60-grain hollow points with 40 grains of H4895 powder. The third group is housed in a blue plastic case and utilizes HORNADY 6mm REM brass with 80-grain Hornady GMX lead-free projectiles featuring red polymer tips; the label specifies a load of 35 grains of BL-C(2) powder. Key markings transcribed from the labels and headstamps include .6MM REM 60 GR HP 40 GR H4895, 6MM REM LEAD FREE 35GR BLC 2 80GR GMX, R-P 244 REM, W-W SUPER 6mm REM, and HORNADY 6mm REM.
Condition report:
The brass cartridge cases show varying degrees of surface tarnish and light oxidation consistent with age and typical storage conditions. The projectiles appear to be properly seated and the primers are well-set and show no signs of corrosion. The plastic storage boxes are in functional condition with some external scuffing, and the handwritten ink labels are clear and legible.
