Description
This lot consists of a collection of 57 live rounds and 50 empty brass casings of .44 Remington Magnum ammunition organized across three separate containers. Included is a vintage yellow Remington box, originally for 180 Grain Jacketed Soft Point cartridges, which contains a black plastic tray holding 37 live rounds. These cartridges primarily feature headstamps marked R-P 44 REM MAG. A second black plastic tray from a Hornady Custom ammunition box contains 20 live rounds, all bearing the HORNADY 44 REM MAG headstamp; the box side is marked with handwritten notation specifying 20 RDS. CUSTOM POWER BALL. Completing the collection is a translucent white Herter’s Inc. plastic tray containing 50 empty brass casings with mixed headstamps. Visible markings on these casings include P M C 44 REM MAG, W-W SUPER 44 REM MAG, and C B C 44 REM MAG. The packaging and cartridges show characteristics consistent with long-term storage, including varying degrees of surface tarnish on the brass and significant shelf wear to the cardboard components.
Condition report:
The ammunition and brass casings exhibit light to moderate surface tarnish and oxidation throughout the lot. Per user-provided data, 57 cartridges are confirmed as live rounds, while 50 items are identified as empty brass casings, although the primers on many casings appear unspent.
