Description
This is a Glenfield Model 60 semi-automatic rimfire rifle manufactured by The Marlin Firearms Co. of North Haven, Connecticut. Chambered for .22 Long Rifle, this autoloader is equipped with a 22-inch blued barrel and a full-length tubular magazine. The rifle features a black-finished alloy receiver with a grooved top for mounting rimfire optics. It is mounted in a light-finished wood stock with decorative press-checkered patterns featuring squirrel and oak leaf motifs on both the pistol grip and the forend. The sighting system consists of a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear leaf sight. The stock is completed with a black textured plastic buttplate. Verbatim markings on the left side of the barrel include GLENFIELD MOD. 60 THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A. CAL. 22 L.R. ONLY along with a JM proof mark near the receiver junction. The serial number 22381149 is clearly stamped on the left side of the receiver. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good, used condition. The blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube shows moderate thinning and scattered light surface oxidation. The black finish on the receiver and trigger guard exhibits visible chipping and wear, particularly along the edges and the underside of the trigger guard. The wooden stock displays numerous scattered scratches, dings, and small areas of finish loss consistent with field use, though the decorative checkering remains distinct. The bore was not inspected but the exterior of the muzzle shows typical signs of use.
