Description
This lot consists of two US military standard-issue M2A1 ammunition storage containers. Constructed of heavy-duty steel with an olive drab green finish, these cans feature top-mounted folding carry handles and side-mounted tension latches designed for airtight and watertight storage.
The first can features original yellow stenciled markings on one side identifying the previous contents: 840 CARTRIDGES / 5.56 MM / M855 / 10 RD CLIPS, BANDOLEERS / LC-89B082-451. The LC lot prefix indicates manufacture at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, with the 89 indicating a 1989 production year. The lower rear corner of this can is embossed with the letters SCF.
The second can is primarily plain but features embossed identification on one end reading 19 / M2A1. The M2A1 designation refers to the standard size and specification for this container, which was originally developed for .50 caliber ammunition.
Both cans measure approximately 11 x 6 x 8 inches.

Condition report:
Both ammunition cans are in good field-used condition. They exhibit expected surface wear consistent with military storage and handling, including scuffs, scratches, and minor points of oxidation, particularly along the edges and hinges. The second can has a visible patch of adhesive residue or faded paint on one side. All latching mechanisms and handles are present and functional. The interior gaskets appear to be intact.
