Description
This lot consists of a collection of handgun ammunition totaling 223 live rounds and 6 empty casings in .38 special and .38 super calibers. The ammunition is organized into five separate containers including three blue plastic Berry’s Mfg. flip-top cases, one green plastic flip-top case labeled for Pete’s Custom Hand Loads, and one original Remington Golden Saber cardboard box. The Remington packaging is marked for 38 Special (+P) 125 grain BRASS JACKETED HOLLOW PT. cartridges with the product code GS38SB. Visible headstamps across the collection include R-P 38 SPL + P, WIN 38 SUPER AUTO + P, R-P 38 SUPER AUTO, F C 38 SUPER, W-W 38 SUPER AUTO, G.F.L. 38 SUPERAUTO, and W-W 38 SUPER. The cartridges feature both nickel-plated and brass casings with a combination of jacketed hollow point and round nose projectiles. Many primers exhibit red lacquer sealant. The plastic storage cases bear handwritten notations such as 38 Super and Richards Loads. The Remington cardboard box shows significant shelf wear and tearing at the corners.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in generally good condition with the majority of rounds being live and free of heavy corrosion. Nickel-plated casings show minor surface scuffing and tarnish while the brass-cased items exhibit light oxidation consistent with age.
