Description
This Marlin Model 25 is a bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges, designed as a versatile platform for target shooting and small game hunting. It features a 22-inch blued steel barrel utilizing Marlin’s proprietary Micro-Groove rifling for enhanced accuracy. The metalwork displays a polished blued finish on the receiver and barrel, with a receiver-mounted Tasco 4×15 fixed-power optic secured to the integral dovetail. The furniture consists of a one-piece smooth hardwood stock with a straight comb and a textured black plastic buttplate. The rifle is equipped with a ramped blade front sight and an adjustable elevator rear sight, and it includes one detachable box magazine. Prominent markings on the left side of the barrel include the manufacturer information THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. and the model identification MODEL 25 MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL. 22 S., L., & L.R. with a safety warning roll-marked on the right side of the barrel. The serial number 15748426 is clearly stamped on the left side of the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued steel finish remains in good overall condition, showing approximately 90-95% coverage with minor thinning at the muzzle and light handling scuffs on the receiver. The hardwood stock is structurally sound but exhibits scattered scratches, scuffs, and minor compression marks typical of field use. The action appears to function correctly, with a smooth bolt cycle and a responsive trigger. The Tasco optic displays clear glass and a sharp crosshair reticle. The detachable magazine shows some finish wear but appears functional.
